What Cosmo does

Cold email and outreach

Updated

The short answer

Cosmo finds people who match your best customer, verifies their emails, and writes a 4-step sequence with a personal first line for each. Nothing sends until you approve the campaign. Each inbox sends at most 30 a day on weekdays, and the sequence stops for anyone who replies. Anyone who replies "unsubscribe" is never emailed again.

Manage campaigns, leads and inboxes on Outreach. First, connect a sending inbox.

How a campaign works

  1. Prospects. Cosmo searches for people who match your ideal customer, 100 by default and up to 500. You can also give him your own list.
  2. Verification. Emails are verified, and only addresses marked valid are sent.
  3. Sequence. 4 short emails: the first, then follow-ups 3, 4 and 7 days after the previous one, in the same thread. Each lead gets a personal first line.
  4. Approval. The whole campaign is one card. Nothing sends until you approve it, and sending needs an active trial or plan.

Sending limits

  • At most 30 emails a day per inbox, unless you set a different cap for an SMTP inbox.
  • Weekdays only, 9:00 to 17:00 in your time zone, 4 to 10 minutes apart.
  • An inbox pauses itself if more than 3% of its recent emails bounce (once it has sent at least 20).

Replies and unsubscribing

Every cold email ends with: "P.S. Not relevant? Reply "unsubscribe" and I won't email you again." There's no unsubscribe link. Replying is how people opt out.

Cosmo reads replies and sorts them:

  • Unsubscribe or not interested: the lead is stopped and never emailed again.
  • Interested, not now and other replies: the sequence stops and the lead is marked replied, so you can take over.
  • Out-of-office: the sequence carries on.

Bounced and stopped leads are also blocked from future one-off emails.

LinkedIn messages

Cosmo drafts LinkedIn DMs for you to send. He never sends LinkedIn messages himself.

Questions

Can Cosmo send from my main domain?

Only if you tick the box that you understand the risk. Use a separate lookalike domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC instead.

Do people get an unsubscribe link?

No. Each email asks them to reply "unsubscribe", and Cosmo stops emailing anyone who does.
