How can we help?
Short answers about how Cosmo works: approvals, connecting your accounts, ads safety, billing and fixing errors. Each one starts with the answer.
Getting started
Onboarding, first-day wins, who leads, and where Cosmo talks to you.
- Getting started with CosmoPaste your website, answer a few questions, connect the accounts you use, and tell Cosmo where to text you. He builds a brand kit, a 30-day plan and your first approval cards. Nothing goes out until you say yes.
- Your first-day winsRight after onboarding, Cosmo checks what's working in your niche and then prepares up to nine first wins: one card for each kind of work your connected accounts allow. Each one is a card, so nothing goes live, spends or sends until you approve it.
- Who leads: Cosmo or youIn lead mode (the default), Cosmo looks at your plan and numbers every morning and queues the day's 1-3 best moves as cards. In follow mode ("I lead"), he does what you ask and suggests ideas now and then. You can switch any time on the Growth plan page.
- Where Cosmo talks to you: WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and emailPick WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage (US numbers) or email. Phone calls are coming soon. Cosmo only messages a contact after you prove it's yours: text him a 6-digit code (WhatsApp, iMessage), tap the Telegram link, or click the email confirmation link.
Approvals
Cards, ๐ and "yes to all", editing, skipping and auto-approve.
- How approval cards workAnything that goes out (a post, an ad change, an email, an article, a directory listing) arrives as a card first. Reply ๐ to approve, "yes to all" for every card in the message, "approve 2" or "skip 2" for one card, or tap the buttons on Telegram and WhatsApp.
- Editing and skipping cardsPosts can be edited before they go out: tap โ๏ธ Edit or reply "edit 2", then send the new text. Other cards can't be edited, so skip them and ask Cosmo for a new version. In the app you can say why you skipped, and Cosmo learns from it.
- Auto-approve for low-risk workAuto-approve is off by default. When it's on, Cosmo approves a card himself only if all of these are true: you're in lead mode, it's a low-risk scheduled post or directory listing from his daily planning run, and you've approved 3 or more cards of that kind on that channel in the last 30 days without skipping any. Ads, emails and spend always ask.
- Which channels can approve cards (and why an email reply can't)You can approve by replying on WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and in the web app, because those platforms prove who sent the message. On email, use the signed Approve and Skip links under each card, then confirm; replying "yes" never approves. Phone calls (coming soon) will never approve.
Connecting accounts
Google, Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, inboxes, your website and Stripe.
- Connect Google: Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads and YouTubeOpen Connections and tap the Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads or YouTube tile. They share one Google sign-in, and each tile adds its product to it. After you sign in, Cosmo picks your property, site, ad account or channel automatically when it's obvious, and asks you when it isn't.
- Connect Meta: Facebook Page, Instagram and Meta AdsTap the Facebook Page tile to sign in with Facebook. It brings in your Pages and each Page's linked Instagram business account. Tap Meta Ads for a separate Facebook sign-in for your ad accounts. Meta logins last about 60 days, so Cosmo asks you to reconnect a week before they run out.
- Connect Instagram with the Instagram-only sign-inOn the Instagram tile, sign in with Instagram itself. You don't need a Facebook Page. Cosmo can then post the reels and carousels you approve and manage comments. The sign-in renews itself as long as it hasn't fully expired.
- Connect LinkedIn: your profile, company page and LinkedIn AdsLinkedIn has three tiles: LinkedIn (your profile), LinkedIn company page and LinkedIn Ads. Each is its own LinkedIn sign-in. Company pages appear only where you're an admin. Cosmo renews the sign-in automatically and warns you a week before it needs you.
- Connect TikTok and TikTok AdsTikTok and TikTok Ads are two separate sign-ins. TikTok lets Cosmo publish the videos you approve. TikTok Ads signs in with TikTok For Business and links your advertiser account. Tap each tile in Connections.
- Connect ThreadsTap the Threads tile in Connections and sign in. Cosmo can then post the threads you approve and track replies. While Cosmo's Threads access is still in review with Meta, only invited testers can connect.
- Connect an email inbox for cold email (Gmail, Outlook or SMTP)In Connections โ Email inboxes, connect Gmail or Outlook with a sign-in, or any other inbox with SMTP and an app password. Cosmo sends only the cold emails you approve, at most 30 a day per inbox, and reads replies so follow-ups stop when someone answers.
- Connect your website: WordPress one-click and other site buildersFor WordPress, type your site address, approve Cosmo in WP Admin, and you're done: no plugin, nothing to copy. For Webflow, Shopify, Ghost, Wix or GitHub, paste an API key or token. Framer has no publishing API, so Cosmo hands you the article to paste in.
- Connect Stripe to judge marketing on revenueIn Connections โ Revenue, tap Connect Stripe (read-only) or paste a restricted key that starts with rk_. Cosmo then sees MRR, new customers and churn, so campaigns are judged on revenue, not clicks. Never paste a secret sk_ key. Cosmo refuses it anyway.
- Picking accounts, reconnecting and disconnectingAfter a sign-in, Cosmo picks the account automatically when it's obvious, and asks you when it isn't. Tap Change on a tile to switch. "Needs reconnecting" means the sign-in expired or was revoked: tap Reconnect. Every connection has a Disconnect button (inboxes use the ร).
Ads safety
Paused campaigns, budget caps and the account on every card.
What Cosmo does
His browser, reels and posts, SEO and GEO, cold email and launch directories.
- Cosmo's browser: read-only research and approved tasksCosmo's browser has two modes. Research is read-only: he can open and read pages, but can't submit forms or post. A task that clicks or submits something on a site is a card you approve first, and it only acts on that one site. In both modes he never signs in, and never enters passwords, payment or account-security details.
- Reels, posts and niche researchEvery week Cosmo studies what's working in your niche on TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit and in competitor ads. He uses those patterns and each platform's playbook to write posts and make short vertical reels. Each post or reel is a card. Approving a reel approves both the render and its posts.
- SEO and GEO: articles, search titles and AI answersCosmo writes answer-first articles and publishes them to your site after you approve. He finds pages Google shows but people skip, and rewrites their titles. Every week he asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude the questions your buyers ask and tracks whether you're named. He also prepares llms.txt and FAQ schema for you to paste on your site.
- Cold email and outreachCosmo finds people who match your best customer, verifies their emails, and writes a 4-step sequence with a personal first line for each. Nothing sends until you approve the campaign. Each inbox sends at most 30 a day on weekdays, and the sequence stops for anyone who replies. Anyone who replies "unsubscribe" is never emailed again.
- Launch directories and Product HuntCosmo picks the directories that fit you from a list of about 70 (Product Hunt, Show HN, BetaList, Uneed, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo and more) and writes the copy. Most need a login, a CAPTCHA or a manual review, so you submit each one in about 2 minutes from a ready-made task, and Cosmo tracks where each one stands.
Plan, billing and data
AI budget, the trial, cancelling, privacy and the developer API.
- Your monthly AI budget: what happens at 80% and 100%Your plan includes $40 of AI model spend a month. At 80%, background and on-demand work moves to lighter models. At 100%, the daily planning run, niche research, new reels and Cosmo's browser pause until the 1st of next month (UTC). Chat keeps working, and every card you already have still works.
- Billing, the free trial and cancellingCosmo is one plan, $99 a month (USD, before tax), with a 7-day free trial, billed through Polar. Cancel any time from Billing โ Manage billing or cancel, or text Cosmo "cancel" and he'll send you the link. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. After that, we don't refund unused time, except for billing mistakes or where the law requires it.
- Your data, privacy and deleting your accountCosmo stores your workspace, brand kit, messages, approvals and encrypted account tokens to do the work, and doesn't use your data to train AI models. To export or delete everything, email roy@cosmocmo.com from your account email. It's done within 30 days. The full details are in the privacy policy.
- Developer API and MCP serverCreate an API key in the app under Developers. Use the REST API at /api/v1, or the MCP server at /mcp, with Claude, Cursor or any client that can send a bearer token. Keys have read, write and approve scopes. Write actions only queue approval cards. Only the approve scope can make things go out.
Troubleshooting
Common errors and the WhatsApp 24-hour window.
- Fixing common errors: not connected, needs reconnecting, card failed, pausedMost problems are one of these: an account isn't connected, a sign-in expired ("needs reconnecting"), no account is picked yet, a card didn't go through (โ ๏ธ), or work is paused for the AI budget or because the trial hasn't started. Each fix is below.
- WhatsApp: the 24-hour window and template messagesWhatsApp only lets a business send free-form messages within 24 hours of your last message. Outside that window, Cosmo sends a short approved template instead: "Hi, Cosmo here with your update: ... Reply to this message to see details and approve." Reply with anything and the full message and card buttons follow.
