Connect Google: Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads and YouTube

Updated

The short answer

Open Connections and tap the Google Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads or YouTube tile. They share one Google sign-in, and each tile adds its product to it. After you sign in, Cosmo picks your property, site, ad account or channel automatically when it's obvious, and asks you when it isn't.

AccountWhat Cosmo does with itAccess
Google AnalyticsSees which pages and channels bring sign-ups, so he moves budget and content to what converts.Read-only
Search ConsoleFinds the searches you almost rank for and writes the articles that win them.Read-only
Google AdsReads spend and conversions, cuts wasted keywords and drafts campaigns for you to approve.Reads, and changes ads or budgets only after your yes
YouTubeUploads the videos you approve and sees which ones get watched to the end.Reads, and posts only what you approve

Connecting

  1. Go to Connections → Your accounts.
  2. Tap a Google tile. The Analytics and Search Console tiles ask for both at once. Google Ads and YouTube each ask for their own product.
  3. Choose your Google account and approve on Google's consent screen.

You end up with one Google connection per workspace. When you add another product later, Google asks again for what you already granted, so nothing is lost.

Picking accounts

After you sign in, Cosmo looks up your GA4 properties, Search Console sites, Google Ads accounts and YouTube channels. He picks one for you if there's only one, or if one matches your domain or brand. Otherwise the tile says "Pick a ..." and shows a dropdown. To switch later, tap Change. See Picking accounts, reconnecting and disconnecting.

Good to know

  • Google Ads changes (negative keywords, new campaigns, budgets, pausing) are always cards. New campaigns are built paused. See Ads safety.
  • If the YouTube or Google Ads tile says "Coming soon on this server", that product isn't switched on yet.
  • If Google says Cosmo didn't get offline access, remove Cosmo from your Google account's third-party access, then connect again.

Questions

Do I need separate sign-ins for Analytics and Search Console?

No. One Google sign-in covers both, and Google Ads and YouTube are added to the same connection.

Is Analytics really read-only?

Cosmo only reads Analytics and Search Console data. Note that Google's consent screen may ask for broader Analytics and Search Console permissions than reading.
