Picking accounts, reconnecting and disconnecting

Updated

The short answer

After a sign-in, Cosmo picks the account automatically when it's obvious, and asks you when it isn't. Tap Change on a tile to switch. "Needs reconnecting" means the sign-in expired or was revoked: tap Reconnect. Every connection has a Disconnect button (inboxes use the ×).

Picking the account Cosmo uses

If your sign-in returns several pages, properties or ad accounts and none clearly matches your brand, you'll see "You have more than one account there: pick the one Cosmo should use below." Choose from the dropdown on the tile. You can only pick accounts your own sign-in returned.

  • To switch later, tap Change on the tile. It reads "Using ..." with the current choice.
  • "No ... found on this account" means the sign-in returned nothing of that type. Fix it on the platform (for example, become a page admin), then tap Retry.

Connecting from chat

Ask Cosmo to connect something, for example "connect Instagram". He sends a one-tap link. It works once, for 30 minutes, without logging in to the dashboard. You sign in on the platform itself, and Cosmo never sees your password. When you're done, he texts you what he'll do with the account.

"Needs reconnecting"

The tile turns amber and shows a Reconnect button when:

  • the sign-in was revoked or removed on the platform,
  • a renewal failed, or
  • the sign-in expired. Meta and LinkedIn are flagged 7 days early.

In chat, Cosmo says "... needs reconnecting. Reconnect ... in Connections." Tap Reconnect, or ask Cosmo for a link.

Disconnecting

  • Website, other site builders, Stripe: tap Disconnect.
  • Email inboxes: tap the × next to the inbox.
  • Social, analytics and ad tiles: tap Disconnect under the tile in Connections. One sign-in can cover several tiles (one Facebook sign-in covers your Page, Instagram and Meta Ads), so disconnecting removes that whole sign-in.

Disconnecting deletes the stored tokens for that connection. It doesn't revoke Cosmo's access on the platform itself, so also remove Cosmo in that platform's settings (for example, third-party access in your Google account).

Questions

I picked the wrong ad account. What now?

Tap Change on the Google Ads or Meta Ads tile and pick the right one. Ad cards always name the account they'll touch, so check it before you approve.

The connect link says it expired.

Connect links work once, for 30 minutes. Ask Cosmo in chat for a new one.
