How approval cards work

Updated

The short answer

Anything that goes out (a post, an ad change, an email, an article, a directory listing) arrives as a card first. Reply ๐Ÿ‘ to approve, "yes to all" for every card in the message, "approve 2" or "skip 2" for one card, or tap the buttons on Telegram and WhatsApp.

Each card shows what will happen, where (the channel or account), and the cost if there is one. Cards wait for you in chat and on the Approvals page.

Replies Cosmo understands

You replyWhat happens
๐Ÿ‘, yes, ok, approve, ship itApproves the card, if the last message had only one waiting card
yes to all, approve all, all goodApproves every waiting card in Cosmo's last message
approve 2 / yes 2Approves card 2
skip 2 / no 2Skips card 2
no, skip, not now, ๐Ÿ‘ŽSkips the card, if there was only one
โœ๏ธ, edit, edit 2Starts an edit (posts only). See Editing and skipping cards

Some details:

  • Numbers stay fixed. They match the message as it was sent, so "approve 2" always means the second card, even after you've approved card 1.
  • Several cards waiting. If you reply a bare ๐Ÿ‘, Cosmo asks: "Approve all 3, or just some?" A bare "skip" asks which one.
  • Up to 5 cards per chat message. Any more show as "+N more in the app". "Yes to all" only covers the cards you actually saw.
  • Thank-yous. Right after Cosmo reports a result, a bare ๐Ÿ‘ is read as a thank-you, not a yes to something new.

Buttons

  • Telegram: each card has ๐Ÿ‘ Approve, Skip and (for posts) โœ๏ธ Edit, plus an Approve all button at the end.
  • WhatsApp: each card has ๐Ÿ‘ Approve, Skip and (for posts) โœ๏ธ Edit. Reply "yes to all" for everything.
  • iMessage: no buttons. Use the replies above.
  • Email: Approve and Skip links under each card, each with a confirm step. Replying "yes" never approves. See Which channels can approve.

After you approve

Cosmo does it right away and replies "โœ… Done" with what happened. If it didn't go through, you'll see "โš ๏ธ" and the reason. See Troubleshooting.

Before your trial starts, approving a card shows "Start your 7-day free trial and this goes out right away" with a link. You can still read every card.

Questions

Does Cosmo ever act without a card?

No, with one opt-in exception: low-risk scheduled posts and directory listings, if you turned on auto-approve and have already approved 3 of that kind. Ads, emails and spend always ask.

Where do I see all waiting cards?

On the Approvals page in the app. The chat shows at most 5 per message.
